Stamping mold is a special process equipment for processing materials (metal or non-metal) into parts (or semi-finished products) in cold stamping processing, which is called cold stamping mold (commonly known as cold stamping die). Stamping is a kind of pressure processing method to obtain the required parts by applying pressure on the materials with the die installed on the press at room temperature to cause separation or plastic deformation.
With the rapid development of economy and the diversification of market demand, people's requirements for the production cycle of products are getting shorter and shorter, especially in small batch and even single piece production, modern manufacturing technology is required not only to have high flexibility, but also to have newer production models that can better meet the rapid changes of market requirements. The rapid prototyping technology of NC unit stamping die is produced to adapt to this state.
There are many forms of stamping dies, which are also classified according to the working nature, die structure and die material.
Classification according to process properties
a. Blanking die A die that separates materials along closed or open contours. Such as blanking die, punching die, cutting die, cutting die, trimming die, cutting die, etc.
b. The bending die makes the blank or other blanks bend along a straight line (bending curve) to obtain a workpiece with a certain angle and shape.
c. Drawing die is a kind of die which can make blank into open hollow parts or further change the shape and size of hollow parts.
d. The forming die is a kind of die that directly copies the blank or semi-finished workpiece according to the shape of the convex and concave die of the drawing, while the material itself only produces local plastic deformation. Such as bulging die, necking die, flaring die, undulating forming die, flanging die, shaping die, etc.
e. Riveting die is to use external force to make the participating parts connect or lap together in a certain order and manner, thus forming a whole
Classification according to operation combination degree
a. Single process die A die that completes only one stamping process in one stroke of the press.
B. The compound die has only one station. In one stroke of the press, two or more stamping processes are completed at the same station at the same time.
c. Progressive die (also called continuous die) is a die with two or more stations in the feeding direction of the blank, which can complete two or more stamping processes at different stations in one stroke of the press.
d. The transfer mold integrates the characteristics of single process mold and progressive mold. By using the manipulator transfer system, the product can be transferred quickly in the mold, which can greatly improve the production efficiency of the product, reduce the production cost of the product, save the material cost, and ensure stable and reliable quality.
Classification according to product processing method
According to the different processing methods of products, the dies can be divided into five categories: punching and shearing dies, bending dies, drawing dies, forming dies and compression dies.
a. Punching and shearing die: the work is completed by shearing. Common forms include shearing die, blanking die, punching die, trimming die, trimming die, piercing die, and punching die.
b. Bending die: It is used to bend the flat hair into an angle shape. Depending on the shape, accuracy and production capacity of the parts, there are many different forms of dies, such as ordinary bending die, cam bending die, crimping die, arc bending die, bending and sewing die and twisting die.
c. Drawing die: the drawing die is to make the flat rough embryo into a bottomed seamless container.
d. Forming die: refers to changing the shape of the rough embryo by various local deformation methods. Its forms include convex forming die, curling forming die, necking forming die, hole flange forming die, and round edge forming die.
e. Compression die: It uses strong pressure to make the metal burrs flow and deform into the required shape. Its types include extrusion die, embossing die, embossing die, and end pressing die.
